This easy freezer apple pie filling is one of my favorite ways to put up extra apples without having to can another thing. Everything gets mixed together, portioned into freezer bags, and tucked away for an easy pie later.
When you’re ready to use it, thaw the filling and it’s ready to go into your favorite pie crust.
a few notes.
I freeze the filling flat in freezer bags so it takes up less space and thaws quickly. Each batch uses 7 cups of apples, so it’s already measured and ready when I want to make a pie.
This is also part of the same big apple-preserving day when I brought home 75 pounds of orchard “duds.” If you want to see what I did with the rest, you can read What I Did With 75 Pounds of Apples.
